Aitutaki is the Cook Islands’ most iconic lagoon, often described as our “local Bora Bora” for its vivid turquoise water and postcard-perfect sandbars. It’s a dream day trip for lagoon cruising, snorkelling, and that once-in-a-lifetime South Pacific colour.

  • Known for: One of the most spectacular lagoons in the South Pacific

  • Perfect day: Lagoon cruise, snorkelling, and sandbar stops

  • Day trip: Typically reached by a short flight from Rarotonga

  • Best for: Couples, photographers, and anyone chasing peak “turquoise”

  • Tip: Pack swimwear, sun protection, and a light cover-up for the boat
